T8480 ICS Triplex Trusted TMR Analogue Output Module The Trusted TMR analog output module can interface with 40 field devices. The entire module performs triple diagnostic testing, including measuring current and voltage on each section of the voting output channels. Stuck-open and stuck-closed faults are also tested. Fault tolerance is achieved through the Triple Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture of each of the 40 output channels within the module. Automatic line monitoring of field devices is provided. This feature enables the module to detect open and short circuit faults in field wiring and load devices. The module provides on-board Sequence of Events (SOE) reporting with 1 ms resolution. Output state changes trigger the SOE input. Output states are automatically determined by voltage and current measurements on the module. This module is not approved for direct connection to hazardous areas and should be used with intrinsically safe barrier equipment. Output Field Terminal Unit (OFTU) The Output Field Terminal Unit (OFTU) is the part of the I/O module that connects all three AOFIUs to a single field interface. The OFTU provides the required set of fail-safe switches and passive components for signal conditioning, overvoltage protection, and EMI/RFI filtering. When installed in a trusted controller or expander chassis, the OFTU field connector interconnects with the field I/O cable assembly at the rear of the chassis. The OFTU receives conditioned power and drive signals from the HIU and provides magnetically isolated power to each of the three AOFIUs. SmartSlot links pass from the HIU to the field connections through the OFTU. These signals are sent directly to the field connector and remain isolated from the I/O signals on the OFTU.
